Dada

Every morning, when Rosalie wakes up, she lays in bed. Her eyes open up and she lays still; but as soon as she's awake, she also starts calling "dada, dada, dada". Over and over again she calls to her daddy. He's the first one she wants to see each morning. The first one she wants to talk to each morning. The first one she wants to spend her time with each morning.

Every morning, when I wake up, I slowly get myself up and going. I get my coffee, turn on some lights, and sit down with my bible and daily devotional.

I realized the other morning while giving my time to God, that that's how much we should want Him each morning. That the second we wake up, we should yearn to spend our time with our Father. Just as Rosie calls to "dada", we should immediately be wanting to call to our Father.

How sweet that relationship would be; that we want to, and act on giving our Father in Heaven our time and attention each and every day. To read His words, tell Him all about what's going with us, to ask and expect His help and gifts (blessings). Isn't that how our healthy relationships go with our earthly fathers? When we ask them for something, they tend to say yes; and we have a Heavenly Father who is the same! He delights in spending time with us, talking with us, and blessing us!

It was just a pretty picture to see the similarities of the relationship between my daughter and husband, and God with me. We have a God who loves deeply.
